EVELYN EBO: CHOREOGRAPHIC BRILLIANCE

DANCER • CHOREOGRAPHER • PERFORMER • TEACHER

Evelyn Ebo brings extraordinary vision and artistic depth to our off-Broadway production through her innovative choreography. Her masterful dance direction stems from a lifetime dedicated to performance excellence, beginning at age four under the mentorship of Joan Myers Brown at the Philadelphia School of Dance Arts.

With professional roots established at just 15 with the Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco), Evelyn developed the exceptional technical foundation and creative insight that now defines our production's movement language. Her choreographic approach seamlessly blends Graham and Horton techniques with contemporary elements, creating signature visual poetry that elevates our narrative.

Evelyn's choreographic sensibility has been shaped through her extensive performance career spanning prestigious productions including The Wiz, Broadway's Timon of Athens, and Black Nativity. Her television experience on Fame, The Cosby Show, and Homicide: Life on the Streets informs her understanding of movement that resonates with audiences across mediums.

Beyond her creative contributions to our production, Evelyn continues to nurture emerging talent as an instructor and mentor, passing forward her passion for dance while balancing life as a mother of three and business owner.

Education: Philadelphia College of Performing Arts (Dance Major), Philadelphia Community College, Burlington Community College, Licensed Cosmetologist
